Bahrain’s Nationality, Passports and Residence Affairs (NPRA) and the UAE’s Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Port Security have signed a memorandum of understanding to formalise the bilateral “One Stop” pre-entry project for travellers.
The agreement was signed in Abu Dhabi by Brigadier Abdulaziz Abdulrahman Al Doseri, Bahrain’s Assistant Undersecretary for Ports, Search and Follow-up, and Dr Hamad Saif Al Mashghouni, Executive Director of the UAE’s Air Ports Affairs Sector, with officials from both sides present.
The MoU establishes an institutional framework for sharing travellers’ pre-entry data between the two countries’ systems, with both sides committing to meet information security and data protection standards.
The project itself is not new. Bahrain and the UAE launched it on 16 February 2026, linking Bahrain International Airport and Zayed International Airport. It allows passengers to complete entry formalities for their destination country before departure, cutting processing time on arrival.
The signing formalises what was already operating and responds to a directive from the GCC Interior Ministers, who called for the “One Stop” initiative at their 42nd meeting as part of a broader push toward Gulf integration in travel and border management.
Both sides described the MoU as a step toward deeper security cooperation and smoother passenger flow across Gulf ports.
