Cities across the UAE have switched on festive lighting and activated operational plans for Eid Al Adha, with municipalities deploying close to 3,000 illuminated displays and scaling up services from slaughterhouse capacity to round-the-clock cleaning teams.
Al Ain City Municipality said it had completed decoration works across 98 kilometres of major roads and intersections, installing nearly 1,400 lighting units in total. Engineer Moza Al Muhairi, project manager for the initiative, said the designs combined Eid greetings with visual references to Al Ain’s natural character, using energy-efficient technology in what she described as calm and visually comfortable colours.
In Dibba Al Hisn, the municipality said it had activated an integrated operational plan covering public health, market inspections and facility readiness. The municipal slaughterhouse has been expanded to accommodate Eid sacrifices under veterinary supervision, and inspection teams have stepped up monitoring of food establishments, barber shops and beauty salons. Residents have been warned against using unlicensed butchers, with authorities stressing that all slaughtering must take place inside approved municipal facilities. Cleaning and sterilisation crews will operate continuously at slaughterhouses, markets and public spaces throughout the holiday. Festive lighting has also been installed at the Eid prayer ground and across public squares.
Taleb Abdullah Al Yahyai, Director of Dibba Al Hisn Municipality, said all departments had completed their service plans to ensure a safe environment during Eid Al Adha.
In Ajman, nearly 1,500 illuminated panels and Eid greeting displays have been installed across streets, squares and parks. Ajman Municipality and Planning Department also confirmed free public parking from Tuesday until May 29, with parks and recreational facilities remaining open throughout the break.
