flydubai has announced the launch of direct flights between Dubai and Benghazi, making it the first UAE carrier to operate the route. Services will begin on June 17 2026, departing from Terminal 3 at Dubai International Airport (DXB) and arriving at Benghazi Benina International Airport (BEN).
The route will run three times a week.
“The launch of our new operations to Libya marks another milestone in our network expansion strategy and reinforces our commitment to opening underserved markets and establishing new air links between countries. We have recently been scaling up our operations with a continued focus on adding new routes and frequencies as travel demand increases, and by the summer, our network is expected to grow to more than 100 destinations. The strength, resilience and agility of the UAE’s aviation ecosystem have enabled us to continue to realise opportunities and capitalise on Dubai’s hub to explore new and emerging markets such as Libya,” Ghaith Al Ghaith, Chief Executive Officer at flydubai said in a statement.
Africa network frows to 13 destinations across nine countries
The addition of Benghazi takes flydubai’s network in East and North Africa to 13 destinations across nine countries. The airline has cited trade, tourism and cultural exchange as the drivers behind its continued investment in African routes.
The Benghazi launch follows a period of expansion across the continent. flydubai recently began operations to Nairobi – its second point in Kenya after Mombasa – and launched seasonal services to Al Alamein in Egypt, which will operate from June during the summer period.

Return Business Class fares from Dubai to Benghazi start from AED 10,500, with Economy Class Lite fares from AED 4,500. From Benghazi to Dubai, return Business Class fares start from $2,500 and Economy Class Lite fares from $800.
The new service operates under the flydubai and Emirates codeshare partnership, giving passengers access to a combined network, along with through check-in of baggage and a single ticket.
Bookings are available via flydubai.com, the official flydubai app, the UAE Contact Centre at (+971) 600 54 44 45, flydubai travel shops, or through travel partners.
The Benghazi announcement forms part of a wider expansion at flydubai. The carrier has resumed services to destinations across the GCC, the Middle East, and select points in Europe and Russia. From May 22, 2026, seasonal routes to Bodrum, Dubrovnik, Mykonos, Santorini, and Tivat, among others, will restart.
