flydubai has announced the launch of direct flights between Dubai and Benghazi, making it the first UAE carrier to operate the route. Services will begin on June 17 2026, departing from Terminal 3 at Dubai International Airport (DXB) and arriving at Benghazi Benina International Airport (BEN).

The addition of Benghazi takes flydubai’s network in East and North Africa to 13 destinations across nine countries. The airline has cited trade, tourism and cultural exchange as the drivers behind its continued investment in African routes.

The Benghazi launch follows a period of expansion across the continent. flydubai recently began operations to Nairobi – its second point in Kenya after Mombasa – and launched seasonal services to Al Alamein in Egypt, which will operate from June during the summer period.
